About Us

ChaltaFarm is a leading dairy farm in Iran renowned for its scale and modernity. Spanning over 6 hectares of agricultural land, our farm boasts cutting-edge facilities and infrastructure. With two state-of-the-art milk livestock units, we consistently yield over 250MT of fresh milk daily. Our milk powder factory produces a wide variety of milk powders, amounting to more than 1,700 metric tons, along with a monthly production of 750 metric tons of butter, catering to both local and global markets. Notably, a significant portion of our daily milk output is dedicated to the production of IMF (Infant Milk Formula).

Established in 2021 by prominent dairy farmers nationwide, ChaltaFarm (Shameh Shir) Company is strategically located on a 60,000 square meter site in Pishva city, southeast of Tehran province. Situated at the heart of the animal husbandry industry, our company has become a key player in the region.

Our primary focus revolves around delivering top-quality products that adhere to international standards while prioritizing the responsible use of energy resources for sustainable production. To achieve this, we have implemented an intelligent livestock feed and forage system, serving as the backbone of our high-quality output. Throughout the production process, our specialized team of professionals in animal husbandry, agriculture, and the food industry ensures meticulous monitoring and supervision.

Equipped with cutting-edge dairy production machinery from renowned global brands, we have successfully diversified our product range, encompassing milk powder, whey powder, butter, cream, and other dairy derivatives. These offerings, bearing our esteemed brands "ChaltaFarm" and "Shiraland," are supplied to domestic and international markets.

The daily capacity of receiving 1250 tons of raw milk has placed this complex in the group of the largest producers of dairy products in the Middle East. We have established ourselves as industry leaders in dairy powder production, thanks to our state-of-the-art powder processing machinery. Our comprehensive range includes SMP HHHS (High Heat - Heat Stable Skimmed Milk Powder), LH (Low Heat), MH (Medium Heat), and HH (High Heat) milk powder, available in both Regular and Instant varieties. Additionally, we are expanding our portfolio to include upcoming products like UHT SMP HH and FFMP (Fat-Filled Milk Powder).

At ChaltaFarm, our milk powder is meticulously crafted using high-quality milk and adhering to stringent quality control measures. With a protein content exceeding 34% and a Total Plate Count (TPC) of less than 10,000, our SMP (Skimmed Milk Powder) stands on par with esteemed EU producers in terms of quality. This collection adheres to national and international standards, including GMP, ISO 9001, ISO 22000, IRI Standard, and HACCP.

Through vigilant supervision of our suppliers and expertise in quality control, we consistently strive to minimize factors such as microbial load and aflatoxin contamination. These endeavors have enabled us to achieve the remarkable feat of producing infant-based milk powder, exemplifying our commitment to excellence and innovation.

Why Chaltafarm?

In our country, a wrong tradition has affected a number of dairy companies, leading to the production of low-quality and unhygienic milk for milk powder production. Understanding the crucial role of the health and physicochemical quality of milk as a raw material, extensive studies have been conducted on different types of milk powder. The unanimous finding of these studies is that a quality end product can never be achieved from poor-quality raw materials. To address this issue, we recognized that ensuring a chain of quality from animal feed to humans was the only viable solution. Consequently, almost two years before the complex's inception, we prioritized monitoring, quality control, and enhancing the quality of livestock milk. Expert monitoring and preventive measures were consistently undertaken to eliminate health or physicochemical nonconformities, backed by continuous visits from our team of experts.

Quality control is an integral part of our processes, ensuring that we exceed the requirements of Iran's Standards and maintain a complete quality chain. We hold our produced milk powder to the same high standard as baby-based infant formula.

For instance, when evaluating each batch of milk powder, we conduct additional tests beyond the National Standard of Iran. These tests include Cultivation tests and the possibility of isolating Bacillus cereus, Clostridium regenerative sulfate, and enterococcus fakalis. While the national standard of Iran focuses on the total microbial count, the number of coliforms, E. coli, and positive coagulase staphylococcus, our comprehensive approach ensures a more thorough assessment.

During the production process, we carefully control the temperature of the received milk to guarantee its quality. By maintaining the minimum allowable temperature throughout the process, we ensure that the produced powder falls within the preferred range of quality indicators, such as WPNI (Whey Protein Nitrogen Index), resulting in milk powder with a high biological value.
Regarding physicochemical parameters such as protein, our input milk's non-fat dry matter results in this parameter being higher than 35% in the produced milk powders. Moreover, our special spray dryer tower conditions and low temperatures during the process yield milk powders with exceptional solubility.

Aflatoxin M1 is another significant parameter to consider in milk and dairy products. Aflatoxins, produced by certain fungi, are natural contaminants that can pose health risks to humans and animals. Aflatoxin B1 (AFB1) found in animal feed can lead to the presence of aflatoxin M1 (AFM1) in milk and dairy products. Notably, aflatoxin M1 is heat resistant, rendering pasteurization and boiling ineffective in reducing its levels. We address this concern through a multilateral approach, meticulously controlling aflatoxin levels at all stages. Chaltafarm Company's regular monitoring of dairy farms and adherence to strict internal standards for raw milk entering the factory result in milk powder production with aflatoxin M1 levels far below the national standard set for powdered milk. In repeated experiments, the amount of aflatoxin M1 in our produced milk powder has not exceeded 0.07 (μg) PPB, while the national standard of Iran permits up to 1 PPB of aflatoxin in powdered milk. Additionally, due to our quality-oriented strategies and the high sensitivity of our quality team, we also detect antibiotics like sulfonamides, chloramphenicol, and Streptomycin in the input milk, apart from the standard requirements of tetracycline and beta-lactam antibiotics in Iran.

Our relentless pursuit of quality has resulted in the production of high-quality milk powder that meets all the quality parameters set by the Eurasian and European Union. Despite being a relatively new company, Chaltafarm's milk powder is already being exported to Syria, Oman, Armenia, Afghanistan, Tajikistan, Iraq, Pakistan, Turkey, Sri Lanka, Malaysia (Klang port) and the United Arab Emirates.

Our History

The journey of Shame Shir Agro-Industry and Dairy Farm and our deep-rooted relationship with milk began in 1398. It was a pivotal year when farmers and ranchers came together to form a joint venture, establishing the Shameh Shir dairy factory as a company. This strategic partnership aimed to bolster their position in the market and ensure the reliable sale of their milk. In its early days, the complex operated with the support of two livestock units, Chaltasian and Taliseh, which currently produce over 50% of the raw milk required for infant formula in Iran. Additionally, backed by two years of dedicated efforts to improve milk quality, the factory commenced operations, processing approximately 300 tons of milk per day.

As a testament to our commitment to quality, the opening of the Chaltafarm factory laboratory brought about higher sensitivity monitoring of input milk, with reduced assessment periods. Consequently, we now adhere to stricter standards than the national standard of Iran in various parameters, ensuring the utmost quality and safety of our dairy products.

At present, the factory processes about 500 tons of high-quality milk daily and boasts a daily production of approximately 40 tons of skimmed milk powder. Our substantial output has earned us a significant share of Iran's milk powder production.
